Moving up(thanks!)
I see that effective 9/29 I'm an Outdoor Expert. I just want to thank the people on this forum. I can say with certainty that without the info shared here, I would still be flinging lead all over the place.....

And now the real struggle begins! For most...Expert is the hardest class to move up from, best really step up your game.

Way to go! You're partially right about all the help on this forum, it's invaluable. But the main credit goes to you. You're the one who applied and trained.
Now, lets get your profile updated to reflect your improvement.

Just went and dug up my past cards for outdoor conventional pistol.DavidR wrote:And now the real struggle begins! For most...Expert is the hardest class to move up from, best really step up your game.
Started shooting 11/2008 as Marksman of coarse.
Sharpshooter card 01/28/2009.
Expert card 04/07/2009.
Master card 05/13/2013.
Indoor Master card 03/05/2013.
Yep, it is a long road for some of us but well worth the travel.
Good shooting and keep it up.

Re: Moving up(thanks!)
congratulations orpheoet
september must be when they tally up the score I just got my new card today and as of
9-29-15 I will be a SharpShooter
after being Marksman for four years, I have went back and read the classification rules and don't really under stand them I have never shoot a SharpShooter score in a 2700 match
all though I have in 22 900 match, not sure how they decide which 360 shots to use.

I really had to have my guns and ammo at peak performance to make master. I trained harder and more often than I had previously. I also competed more. IIRC, I made distinguished and outdoor master close to the same year. Congratulations and here's to your next higher achievement!

Coincidentally I just got my 1911 back from Dave Salyer and over the summer picked up a nice early 80's M41. The reloading I'm working onBE Mike wrote:I really had to have my guns and ammo at peak performance to make master. I trained harder and more often than I had previously. I also competed more. Re: Moving up(thanks!)
Started in Bullseye in late 2010. Had never shot any pistols. Due to a motorcycle accident that does not allow me to extend my right arm and the fact that I am left eye dominate, it was suggested I shoot left handed or at least try it left handed despite the fact that I am right handed. I did and it may or may not have helped or hindered me. I was doing pretty good until I attended a "clinic" put on by a multi national champion. I spent 3 years trying to implement what I "thought" he was trying to teach me. My scores diminished each year. This past year I returned to the uninformed and untaught methods I started with. I obtained my outdoor Expert classification this month and just today shot my first ever indoor Expert score at the Cherry Creek indoor 2700.
I am moving UP! Note that I am reconciled with the fact that I may NEVER receive another NRA buck
from match winnings. NMBUZZ
