SW"1911" with spherical bushing
Hi
Local gun store owner/smith is a fan of 45acp model SW1911 with spherical bushing. Does anybody shoot one of these? Just curious. Is this similar to the old model 945?

I believe that Jerry Keefer discussed the spherical bushing in a different thread. He said they were ok, but that there really wasn't much of an advantage over a fitted bushing.
The other thing I didn't like about the SW1911 is their version of the series 80 firing pin safety setup.

Ah, yes! Good work JayhawkNavy.
The thread I was thinking about was the Briley barrel bushing thread.

Understood, I just stuck all Jerry's comments on bushings into same post.

I guess I was the one that posted the Briley question.

The follow up to that would be. I bought one for my 9mm RO. I took it to the range twice and put it through the wringer with every load I had. The pistol now has the original bushing back on.

Don't pass on it. When installed correctly they work fine.
But, no better than a correctly fitted standard bushing.
