New to me Caspian 1911

I just picked up a very nice Caspian 1911, it's compensated and scoped, no sight dovetails, I was told this was an early gun, but I found 1998 to be a close production date.
I was also told these were typically done in 38 super in this configuration.  Previous owner said it would not function with SWC, only ball.  Sure enough I tried to chamber the SWC and it would not chamber.
This came with a Nowlin barrel, and 2 Wilson combat extended magazines, also a 10 and 11 pound wolfe spring set.  The trigger feels great aprox 3 pounds.  I guess I need to get it to a smith to get the barrel ramped a bit more to allow SWC to function.  I"m not sure what this pistol was designed for, it may be more of  a race gun, than the WC Pistol I was looking to get.

Before taking it to a gunsmith it wouldn't hurt to try a different magazine. Some pistols just don't like Wilson mags for SWC. Metalform work well.

Might also try EGW high mag catch. You might need to slightly bend lip on bottom of magazine to get it fully inserted. Make sure mag doesn't hit ejector.
