Best factory hardball
Hypothetically if one were to shoot hardball for EIC what groups the best. I've seen Winchester Mil spec hardball at Cabela's, any good? I'm just kicking around the idea.

Re: Best factory hardball
Federal Gold Medal was good, then went through a bad period 6-8 years ago, but hopefully they've fixed it. I haven't tried recently.
I've shot Zero loaded 230FMJ in competition and it shot to call. I haven't tested it.
Atlanta Arms and Ammo makes great 185JHP and 9mm so I bet their 230FMJ would be good as well, but I've not tried it.

Hello orpheoet,
I applaud you trying to get your points with hardball. I earned mine back in the day when they provided you the ammunition. I would wholeheartedly recommend ASYM's "Match Hardball" (at 850 feet per second) or "Practical Match" (at 750 feet per second and super accurate).
Good luck.
Jim

Re: Best factory hardball
If you can find some TZZ ball it had a good reputation for 50 yard accuracy but hang on tight during rapid fire!

Re: Best factory hardball
Greetings,
Most of the Match Ball ammo produced for the Military was excellent. Some lots better than others.
All of them had to pass a group requirement before being accepted.

Page 2 of the document states 3" minimum. Most lots I tested in a barrel tester were much smaller.
Cheers,
Dave

Why not just use it for 50 and then the ordinary white box for T&R?robert84010 wrote:If you can find some TZZ ball it had a good reputation for 50 yard accuracy but hang on tight during rapid fire!
