I bought one of these when I was getting ready to load .223 for Highpower. Do I need it?

Nope. Clean 'em and load 'em.

That is what I thought. I have this one BNIB so I will just sell it and buy components and dies.

I have one also. It gets a lot of use loading rifle but don't use it at all loading pistol.

Clean the brass, check for any split, dented or bad case's, and load

You could clean the primer pockets with it .....and on new brass I touch the case mouth on the champher tool......But neither is really nessary ....I just got in those habbits when loading for rifle bench rest and long range varmint shooting....

Agree with the above.
I have loaded some of my brass many times and that is relegated to one bin. Lengths of the cases will change over time and they will lengthen differently.
For matches (at least more important one's) I shoot brass that is same brand and the same amount of load cycles.
I don't do more than clean and load either way.
