New website for pistol matches!
Nick Koppinger, an Ohio shooter, has created a website for shooters and match directors to post upcoming matches. Just tap on the map and see what is available in your area.
http://pistolmatches.com/
It's free and its already got close to 100 matches listed from around the country. Anyone can list a match.
It is a great site and it is what the NRA and CMP should have been doing already.

Also match information here for Mid Atlantic matches. Brent's been collecting and posting for years. Clubs are generally the same, updates generally done by March for the shooting year.

So, start something is still a good recommendation. You can still shoot a league with 2 at a time on different days / nights. Bullseye is bullseye. As I said somewhere else: Shooters will not come to your cornfield and ask you for a bullseye match. You have to build it first, and its damn hard work.
In the area we have an indoor 4 range facility with 3 - 50 yard bays (about 10 positions each) and a 100 meter rifle bay. Combines a law enforcement training facility with a public access range constructed by the county and run under contract by a very good shooting group. This could have remained your general, run of the mill, 5 yards is a long way indoor range.
But, one guy, Willie Trowell, (a former .22 champ at Perry by the way) started putting on bullseye / precision pistol league matches twice a month, clinics and introduction classes for new bullseye shooters a few years ago and just added air pistol twice a month. Just goes to show what a dedicated guy can do. (And some of those shooters are now feeding into the outdoor 2700 matches.)
Ain't North Carolina great!

I'm a product of said league (Wake County, NC). Willie is the Man. Ray and Jean Gerald once ran it. Also, Bob, Dewey, Eric and others are major contributors. It is a thankless job; however, I thank them. Thanks to Cecil and Clark. Which reminds me, I need to get matches early, to help with set up. It's the least I can do.

yes, I shoot winter league there. Looks like they are only doing two 2700 matches this year. I'm hoping to get to at least one of them. They had I believe 3 last, and it turned out I was out of town all of them!!!
