Sig Sauer red dot
Does anyone have any feed back about the Romeo4 or Romeo5? They look like a Aimpoint clone kinda but better then most of the clones. They have some nice features and prices are all over the place. Thanks

Couple months ago I shot next to a guy with one. Looked pretty nice. Dot was round! He was happy with it.

That's the AR mount. They make a weaver/picatinny.

What Jon said. They come with a high and a low mount.

Do you know where these are made?
Not that it makes any difference but I was shocked to find out that the Sig 38 Super barrels are made in Korea.

Best answer I could find. Designed in Oregon and made in China. With Holosun parts and specs. Also has upgraded hardware. Also found this on Sig Sauer site.Virgil Kane wrote:Do you know where these are made?

I have had for quite a long time a Sig dot, STS-081. It works good on 22s. Never had it mounted on a 45, so I don't know if it will stand up to that. It has no tube extensions so that makes it semi-useless.

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
Most Holosun sights come with a lower 1/3 co witness mount for an AR and a standard weaver/pic mount.
Will see how both my Holosuns stand up to .38 and .45 recoil.
To be continued...

resurrecting old thread instead of starting a new one...
Any opinions on the Romeo 5 since time has passed?

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
I have Romeo 5 on one of my .22 pistols. Nice round 2MOA dot, no problems. I very much like the fact that I don't have to turn it off. It goes to sleep in a few mins of inactivity. Haven't tried it on a .45.

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
Shopping around you can find these units new for a little over a hundred dollars. This is a cheap solution for my astygmatism.Dot is perfectly round, no comet tails or double dots and the unit is really light. Right now I have one slide mounted on a long slide Caspian .45. The jury is still out if it will take the beating. As someone mentioned, it comes with 2 bases, a high for AE platforms, and a low for pistols. The low base gets the unit much closer to the barrel line than ring mounted units and with no negative magnification, but I would like to see someone make an aftermarket base that is more substantial for it. Jon Shue makes front and rear removable lens shades that fit it. As far as holding zero, I was testing the Brazos bullets the other day with the Caspian and had back to back 98s SF and a 97 SF in the NMC @50. After saying this, do not expect to buy an H1 clone for this price.

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
I looked at one a while ago. Read on another forum it had some parallax.
I turned it on, set it on the counter at the store. I looked through it from a little ways back. I was looking at some furniture about 50 feet away. I moved my head and the dot did move on the "target". Don't know if its the same one. Romeo1 . At the time it was bout $259.00

I'm done with manufacturing of attachment parts for Aimpoint Micros, and will be posting final product pictures on my website within a week. If there will be enough interest in my design, as it is different from Jon Shue's or anything else on the market, I can ran batches of same design adopted to Nikon's and Sig's red dots. My design doesn't requite permanent press on of anything on red dot, end user install-able and removable, and allows for using Ultradot accessories, like extension tubes, filters, eye pieces, etc.

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
I have 3 of the Nikon Ptacticals. The threads inside almost let you screw on ultra dot tubes. A short thread to thread adapter would be great.

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
LenV, are any of your 3 Nikon P-Tactical Superdots slide mounted on a .45? How reliable are they if you've had a chance to test them out yet?

41, 52 and 952. The 52s are slide mounted. Shot the 41 all winter league. Liked it enough to get two more. Not much past a good day at the range for the 52s.

PhotoEscape, I am interested in your shades for the Sig Romeo 5 dot, if you will be making them.

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
Oleg, what is the OD on Romeo5? Is it the same on both sides? Also, what is the depth of the OD on both sides?
I wonder how close it to H1/H2.

Re: Sig Sauer red dot
Excellent, thank you TomH. Aimpoint Micro H1 has OD that is pretty much the same (1.102"). So if anyone wants to try installing it on Sig Romeo5, please order through website. Obviously I'll refund money if it doesn't work.
