How much is too much
How much is too much for a nice used 52-2? I don't want to get carried away and over bid on this gun. There is also a never been shot one but I bet it will be big bucks and it is a first time seller. Need help guys. If any of you are bidding on this gun I will back out and wait till later. I need a figure before 9PM Sunday. Don

Honestly, I think it is above what I would give for it already. It is very nice looking but not brand new. You would also have to add as much as 200.00 more to get a second magazine. I know prices keep going up but there have been nicer ones here on the forum for under $1200.00. I would bet a whole nickel you get offered a better one here soon. Nickel being my max bet on anything.

Don, Remember it is worth what you want to pay for it. Just don't bid against a NR bidder. I had to leave and threw out a max bid on the one I bought and a NR bid me right to my limit. I checked later and bidder was never a real bidder. If your bidding against someone with a bunch of reviews then your still in the ballpark.

LOL CZ Custom probably thinks your not a real bidder and is cussing the NR. I guess some NR's are real.

That's a beauty but I agree, there are better deals. I paid $950 for an excellent example just last year. They are amazing.

Re: How much is too much
Like anything else, it is what you want to pay for it.
I no longer have the M52-2 that was new in box with papers, tool/cleaning kit with two magazines.
Paid $1500 about 6 years ago.
Traded it, didn't need three of them
But it was the one that was worth the most.
Another M52-2 that I had, I paid $500 for.
And the one I currently shoot is the M52-1 that I paid $750.
It looks like a nice condition pistol but in my opinion, I would hold off for that price.

A man once told me he never paid too much for a good S&W. He said he may have bought it too soon, but never for too much.

At $1550' it's already at the VERY high end of what would be a decent price. If that is your bid, bid no further. There are more out there. It is a nice pistol, but you want one for shooting. The 52-2 is the more common of the 52 models and is the preferred one for shooting. Feed them ammo they like and you'll be wondering why CF is so easy.

That and buy different bullets. I guess HBWCs are called for. I have plated DEWCs I was shooting in the GP 100. Guess I can give them a try but am not expecting much from them. Plated just never grouped well in the 45. I think I got a thousand of the darn things. Donjames r chapman wrote:and to think, now you'll have to pick up .38 hulls instead of plucking them out...lol

When you have to compromise your standard of living. Everyone's budget is different and the concept of value is as diversified as one's interpretation of beauty.
If you can afford it and want it, buy it. If you can't don't.

Re: How much is too much
I wish I would have went 1800 now. The bid was one by a custom shop i went to their site they have some nice guns. Guess they knew what it was worth. Well I only paid $954 for the bid I won but the finish and lack of box and manual kept the price down. When I get this trigger right it will be a good gun. I could send it off to be blued but that won't increase my score any. DonMightyheb wrote:You are safe. Someone took it for1700
