Short Stong Case Pistol Box for Pardini w/Red Dot?
Will the short (16" wide") Strong Case 3-gun box (1608) fit a Pardini SP with a Match Dot II on it? Anyone have any pics of of it fits in one, and how much extra space there is around it?

The 1608 box has vertical height to fit a Pardini SP/HP with UD MD (I or II). However, I had to move the center rail that holds the clamps a couple inches to the right of middle. With the rail in the center of the drawer, the magazine area of the frame will interfere with the clamps.

What did moving the center rail entail? Is it just unscrewing and rescrewing together some bolts or does require something like welding?

The center rail is held in by rivets. Drill the head off and drive out the shank/body.

I have one of the newer boxes and it is held in by two sheet metal screws. Don

Anyone have any pics of a Pardini in a short Strong Case (1608) so I can see how much room there is around it?

Apparently the attachment didn't work. Send me a PM with an email address and I'll send it. I'm not going to fight the forum software.

I took the clamps that hold the pistols out of my strongbox and put the pistols in rugs in the box, I am a little more comfortable with them that way, I think if you do that you can carry almost any size pistol in one of these boxes.

Troy a am about to do the same thing. I do not like the metal clamps. I carry my pistol box in the back cargo area of my Jeep Wrangler and it rides very rough back there. I have found my pistols loose and and don't like that at all. If one works loose then they all become loose. I am just not sure yet how they will ride in rugs. Don

This is what can happen if you don't get it tight enough. The pistol moved and rubbed on the scope mount of the pistol next to it all the way home. A uuuurgh moment. I touched it up with a little cold blue.

I have sheets of that stiff foam stuff I put between them because even with out them coming loose the Matchdot turret caps rub each other. Don

I have had no problems with having my pistols in rugs while transporting them in my Strongbox that I removed the clamps.

Troy are you laying them down flat and stacking them on top of each other, or are you sitting them in vertical side by side. Dontroystaten wrote:I have had no problems with having my pistols in rugs while transporting them in my Strongbox that I removed the clamps.
