I just received my Nelson Conversion in the mail yesterday. Put it on an old Series 70 Gold Cup National Match, with Aimpoint H1. Fired about 150 rounds mostly timed and rapid with not a hint of a problem. I really like it and am now considering a dedicated lower built by one of the great bullseye smiths with a trigger at 2- 2.5 #. Does anyone know if the frame on the Gold Cup weighs the same as say a Caspian? I prefer a heavier pistol and thought the Gold Cups were lighter. Or is that just the slide?

Your is the only reference to frame weight besides mine I ever heard.  I can say my Baer frame is beefier and heavier than my R.O. frame.  That is why I fit an aluminum Marvel rail on a Nelson to even up the total gun weighs.  Both Nelson/Baer and Advantage/RO are just under 41oz.

Caspian is heavier. Under the grip panels it has more material that's not machined off.

Build it on a 2011 frame with a brass magwell and steel grip. You should be able to get the base pistol weight to 51 ozs. I have a 40-cal limited gun built like that with tungsten guide rod and it weights 53.3.
