Zins ammo anybody still shooting some
I still got about a case of Zins ammo. I was not real impressed with it. QC I think was poor as one round went through the system with the case ripped down the side by the bullet seating. I can't get excited about using it.

Seems a little pricey.

I would recommend searching the archives for discussion of this ammo before purchasing any.

I attended a Brian Zins clinic this past April (4 weeks ago). It was taught by Brian himself and not a word was mentioned about this ammo. Not sure what that means, but ....

Re: Zins ammo anybody still shooting some
A couple of years ago I attended a Zins clinic. By that time he had already split from the manufacturer and was shooting ASYM ammo.
I asked him to sign an empty box which he did. He asked me how it shot in my gun and I replied it was a bit too underpowered to cycle reliably in my gun. Brian said he had heard that before.
I too have a few boxes left, perhaps I can use them for drill purposes (or anyone SE to South Central WI can buy a box off me).

I call it expensive once fired Starline brass. It's almost acceptable for practice at 50 feet.
Re: Zins ammo anybody still shooting some
just send it all to me, i can get it to run in my gun.

I got my 2 cases straight from a phone order talking with BZ himself when the ammo first hit the street. At least it hit something.....

From what I've heard over the years, my BE Mike ammo is much, much better and is in my price range!

I will see Brian today and tell him he owes us all a lot of money.

Not to take anything away from his amazing accomplishments, but what would someone who always shot ammo made by someone else know about reloading? The company that made and sold the ammo is the one to take to task.Mightyheb wrote:I will see Brian today and tell him he owes us all a lot of money.

Speaking of ASYM, where can one find the 185 these days? I used to get from Brownells but it seems they quit carrying. Has anyone used Roze distributing's zero 185 loaded ammo? I can't find any spec's on it and don't really want to waste time with it if it isn't as good as ASYM.

Didn't ASYM change hands about 2 years ago?

Several years ago at Camp Perry, I saw some very impressive machine rest groups that Jim Collins had done with Zero Ammo. If they haven't changed anything, it should be good to go.SmokinNJokin wrote:Speaking of ASYM, where can one find the 185 these days? I used to get from Brownells but it seems they quit carrying. shot this at perry last year with factory zero 185jhp. Why don't you just load your own? Its not a very secret recipe for 185jhp loads.SmokinNJokin wrote:Is it the standard, 775-800ish fps?

They did; I have some of the new stuff but haven't tested it yet.
The old Stan Chen stuff is definitely the bee's knees.

Some of us don't like reloading.
Plus, time == money.

You should be able to order directly from ASYM. Get on their email list; they have frequent specials.

Besides a lack of time, I'd also offer that those of us with various injuries or in the rehab process, don't need to make
things worse with the repetitive stress of reloading.... I could reload, but then I'd never be able to shoot a 22, much
less a .45!
