Newly acquired S&W Model 41... Wow
My newly acquired Smith & Wesson Model 41

Paper work says it was made in 2003. Other than missing a rear sight, and an oddball pair of grip screws it is nearly perfect. Just a bit of dirt, like it had been fired just a few magazines ever, and I got it for a steal.
And the WOW part is that I now know what a real trigger feels like. I am simply blown away at just how crisp the trigger feels on this gun. Can't wait to get it to the range.
Just had to share!

Nice! I got one (1977 vintage) a few months ago. One of the best. They seem to be finicky about what ammo they like, so trying out different kinds is a good idea. Mine is ok with CCI, but it really likes Eley. That figure$.

Congrats! Mine loved CCI SV and Aguila but would FTE the Federal Automatch that a few others have had success with.

I had a beautiful 41 from the late 70's, had the best trigger I had felt to date when I bought it. Loved the pistol but it stovepiped too much, the Volquartsen exact edge extractor helped but still had issues. I sold it and bought a Sig 1911 that I had worked over by an old Colt Custom shop smith with all new ignition parts, paired it with a Nelson conversion and haven't looked back. Sometimes I miss the 41 but not the alabai's.

Just out at the range and after 3 clicks down and 3 left to zero it shot 10 in a 2 inch dot at 50ft with my standard Aquila high velocity stuff. I think it will work just fine :grin
Re: Newly acquired S&W Model 41... Wow
Try it with some STD Velocity ammo. And shoot it at 25 yards.

The 41 is a really nice weapon! I prefer it over my Nelson.

Anyone should have the right to self-defense and to own firearms. And it is much more practical to defend yourself with firearms than without them. In a large number of countries of our blue ball, this right is legalized, and court cases in situations of self-defense with firearms, for the most part, are in favor of the defender. By the way, if you are interested, you can easily promote your Instagram and even get advertising contracts in theory. Try to get yourself live subscribers using 1394TA.

Response to the word 'weapon'. It's a pistol, or a rifle, whatever.adminbot1911 wrote:hannamontana wrote:Anyone should have the right to self-defense and to own firearms.

Bugs me when the line op' uses it. I'm punching holes in paper ... it's my play toy on the weekends, hardware for my hobby/sport.
It's NOT a 'weapon'. That's for soldiers ... or psycho's.

That is a Gil Hebard M41. Herret Trainer grip and no rear sight. I bought the same one in '96.

Nice looking pistol! Gil Hebard left very big shoes to fill. I still have a gun I bought from him among a lot of other sporting goods. His scope mount is still being copied.Dan Webb wrote:That is a Gil Hebard M41. Herret Trainer grip and no rear sight. I bought the same one in '96.

Great gun. Mine really likes Eley Club. The true test is at 50 yards.

My 41 was junk but after a few trips to Texas and a liner it is a hammer well under an inch at 50 yds and after the trigger was done it seems to shoot everything good. Keep it clean and no malfunctions with any ammo, did see a build up in the chamber a 100 rds. but it cleaned up.... Jim
