3.5 BE on the short line. Taper crimp at .469, seated flush with the shoulder. High 90's and some cleans so far both in TF and RF. Pistol is a Range Officer with slide mount one inch ultradot using a 9# recoil spring. No problems with feeding or cycling.

Re: Zero SWHP 185gr
It depends on whether or not you have an optic and whether or not it is slide mounted. I settled on a load of 4.0 grains of Alliant Bullseye with my slide mounted (Clark slide mount) UltraDot on top of my old Clark accurized series 70 Colt with Kart barrel and bushing. With a 12 lb. recoil spring, I found that the gun wasn't reliable in cold weather with 3.8 grains. I taper crimp to .470" and use W-W LPP. I use FP-10 to lubricate the gun. Of course, as always, YMMV.

Re: Zero SWHP 185gr
For LL, I run 3.9 BE. very accurate and consistent
Starline or Win brass with WW primers.
Seated with just a bit of shoulder exposed.
Personally I think these are second only to the 185 nosler JHP style
.469 crimp

I can't get 185s to run in my gun with less than 4.0 BE. I have a slide mounted dot with a 9# recoil spring but I use a heavy 21# mainspring.

Re: Zero SWHP 185gr
3.5-4.0 gr Bullseye is the classic load(s) for 185 and 200 gr lead bullets. 3.5 gr is pretty light and will probably only work with no dot (or frame mount) and lighter springs. 4.0 is fairly stout, but still very controllable. It seems to be fairly forgiving and shoot decent groups in most bullseye guns.
other "classic" bullseye loads are
3.8-4.2 gr WST
3.8-4.0 gr Clays
3.8-4.0 gr N310

Re: Zero SWHP 185gr
Early results with 3.8gr WST are promising. I'm trying to find something my 25-2's will shoot well. I aloxed the bullets and let them dry overnight. by far the smallest groups from the gun. Unfortunately only at 50 ft, but until today NOTHING was grouping well even at 50 ft. Shockingly they also ran fine in my ball gun with a 15lb spring.
