2- the plastic tube for the case feeder to fit the Hulme case placer.
I need a source to find this stuff.

If Bruce is out of stock, you can also check the forum at www.starreloaders.com. The forum has a "for sale" section.

If you check on the forum, someone probably knows a source for it. Lots of knowledge there regarding Star presses.Multiracer wrote:I will give him a call. I thought there may be outside source for this thin wall FDA type plastic pipe ?

Re: ISO for a star reloader
Greetings,
You can find the plastic at Grainger.
Clear PVC.
Also, look for Polycarbonate. Excelon 5000 was the Trade Name, I think. It is what Star used to use.
Be cautious, however. The inside diameter needs to be lightly machined to fit the baffle and powder spout. Either material will crack if too much press is encountered.
You will save money in the long run buying one direct from Bruce.
Cheers,
Dave

You can also adapt a Lee case feeder to a Star press. Works well with Hulme case feeder for .45 ACP. For my Star set up for .38 wad cutters, I used sections of steel conduit, appropriately sized. Drill a hole at the bottom end of the conduit and insert a pin to hold the brass until you are ready to load.

I've been wondering what the casefeeder tube plastic is. The one I'm using dates from 1963 and is still flexible. A tiny bit of yellowing and of course handling scratches all over but otherwise structurally perfect.

Re: ISO for a star reloader
Greetings,
A side note on the case tubes.
The old ones supplied with the Hulme Case Feeder will accept 45 Colt and 45 Auto Rim. They must have had the tubes special made as I have been unable to source them.
You can find tubes that fit 45 ACP, 38 Special, 9mm, and similar sizes at McMaster and Grainger.
Cheers,
Dave
