1911 custom dedicated lower vs use same pistol frame for conversion
what is the advantage of a custom dedicated .22 lower for a conversion vs buy one 1911 and use the lower for the conversion?

trigger pull weights, not having to keep fiddling with removing slides and install and reinstall the entire upper constantly. Having more guns is more better.

You can set it up with a lower trigger weight, down to 2 pounds versus 3.5 pounds. Gives you additional frames to use as backups. Also doesn't make you have to take apart your .45 during a match and possibly lose the recoil rod, spring and spring cap. Plus you get an additional "full pistol", everyone knows whoever dies with the most guns wins lol.

You can set your dedicated lower to a 2# trigger but if you also use your lower for he .45 match then you need to keep it at 3.5# or 4.0 if using for EIC. I guess I type slow. Two other posts before I could get this in. But since we all agree it just means that great minds think alike.

What they said. I use an RO frame for my Nelson. I use a different hammer spring than what's in my 45. I have the trigger set up lighter. If something were to happen to my 22 frame I have a dedicated 45 frame that I could still put the conversion on in a pinch. The hassle of changing calibers during a match - I don't have to. I box up one gun and remove the other. Just more simple to have a dedicated frame.

I use my Remington R1 frame, you don't see that gun mentioned on here often, but I miss shooting the R1. The R1's slide is on a Gold Cup as the Gold Cup's slide will not clear the frame mounted rail. There is no way I would do a take down at the range it is hard enough to find the parts in my reloading room when I launch them. Don

I have seen many guys having to switch parts during a match. I like having two whole guns and shoot them independently. There is enough to think about in a match already.

Then when you get 2 whole guns you gotta have a backup for each. Remember most guns wins

My EIC guns are my backups to the Scoped guns. My backups right now for the EIC guns would be loaners. Still gotta work on that.
