PHOTOBUCKET issues
DON'T USE PHOTOBUCKET unless you are willing to pay the $399 annual fee to make your pics linakable!
Since 2003 Photobucket has been letting users upload and host images for free on their servers. They have over 10 billion images stored by 100 million registered users. But as of June 26th they started charging $399 annually to host your images and that means billions of images around the Web are now broken.
For the last 4-5 years I've been watching several ground up 1st Gen Camaro restorations that have lost 5 years of photo documentation. They still have access to their own pics but all the posted hotlinks to the pics are broken so the threads have the text but no pics!! SUCKS!

Photobucket has been on a downhill slide for years. They stated bombarding you with ads on their web site. I assume they were having financial issues and the next logical step for them was to go paid only. And yes it sucks bad.

And I assume that PhotoSuckit just came to their senses and got real greedy real quick. And you can't use PhotoSuckit without annually paying the 4 bills a year. Sucks big time but that is the way that it is. And just because PhotoSuckit is doing this doesn't prove that they are in financial straights, it just means that they are greedy They belong in the same deep dark hole that AT&T & DirectTV belong in.

So that's why I can't see what some people try to post anymore. Why use their service to post pictures here. I think there are instructions on this forum for posting pictures without using photo bucket.
I won't pay 400 so I can see another posters images, I'll go without.

Stan, it's not that you have to pay to see it's the poster has to pay so they can be seen. If they don't pay the hotlinks won't work and we can't see their pics.chopper wrote:So that's why I can't see what some people try to post anymore. Why use their service to post pictures here. Photobucket had 10 Million accounts and if only 1% stayed with them and paid the $400 that means they just created a $40 million annual revenue stream.

Re: PHOTOBUCKET issues
Thanks Dave, so maybe a person who has PBucket can access their own photos, but need to upgrade to the 3rd party feature to show their images. Oh well, I don't belong to their service anyhoo.
