Re: New LASR App
I have it. The app works with a camera set up in front of the target. This app requires a laser-emitting device, either a laser bullet in your gun or a laser gun. I bought the Next Level Training SIRT 107 pistol and used it with the LASR app. Then I switched to a LaserLyte .45 ACP laser bullet and used it with my 1911.
The combination of the app and the laser bullet was very successful to motivate me into intensive dry fire training. Now I use the app less and less, as I am becoming better at calling the shots and can derive more benefits from conventional dry fire training routines.
For the price, I think that Laser App together with a Laser bullet is a great training setup for those new shooters, who would otherwise struggle with disciplined dry fire training (like I did in the beginning).

Re: New LASR App
Oleg, what target(s) are you using and how far away? I am assuming that you are indoors.
There is probably a happy medium as far as dot size and distance?

Alex,
I am training in my house withe 50-foot targets (B2 & B3) at fifty feet. You can also print out proportionally reduced targets and set them up at the right distance.

Re: New LASR App
I do not have that software, but I have similar software that works with the laserlyte through a USB camera and my laptop. The problem I always have is that the laser is always off. If I put the laser bullet in now, I may be 2" high and right at 30'. If I take it out, and put it back in, it will be 2" low and left. It's never zeroed on the bore.

Re: New LASR App
Jwhelan,
I have exactly the same experience. However, for me, it does NOT matter. The bullet will emit the laser signal and send it into the same point for the duration of a single session. When training, I am not worried about hitting the X ring on the target I hung on the wall; instead I am worried about consistently and reliably following my shot process, which is confirmed (or not) by having a group of a desired side on the computer monitor. Where exactly on the target that group is, does not matter at all. So, if I am doing everything right and the result is a 10-ring size group located at 10 o'clock in the 7 ring - that is exactly what I was after!
