What are the subtle differences between a model 52-1 and 52-2 ?
Thanks

The extractor. 52 and 52-1 used the same extractor but it was changed for the 52-2. Lot more difference then that between the 52 and 52-1 but if I recall that was pretty much the only change. But my memory isn't as young as it used to be. Smile

As LenV described, the extractor was revised in the 52-2.

The 52-1 and the 52-2 had a different trigger mechanism from the 52, specifically designed for single action.

The 52 had a modified model 39 trigger that could operate either DA/SA at the turn of a set screw.

So, can the newer extractor be installed in the 52-1 ?
Or better yet.... why was it changed ?

the old style was simply a modified Model 39 extractor.. Some folks have said they broke too often but I've never had any issues with my wife's -1.. course I have several spare extractors so it will never break..........
