I've been using a D1050 to load 9mm( my wife loves to plink, 250-350 rds per session ) and load .45 on a LnL without case feeder. I recently gathered up all the stuff to change the 1050 to large primer, large case feeder plate, .45 shell plate etc to use it for a long run of .45acp.
My question is do most precision shooters use the primer pocket swage and case bell or just a M die instead? I mostly use Zero 185 SWC with a few 185 JHP runs. Mostly mixed cases. I don't compete but I like accurate pistols and that means making good ammo.

The vast majority of brass for 45 is commercial so you can easily skip the primer pocket swage. So unless you know you have crimped primer brass, like TZZ and or WCC? I would also use the M die AND I’d also use a bullet feeder die like the RCBS with the tube feeder. These will handle cast bullets reasonably well and this eliminates a motion. I’d also use a powder check system and I’d opt for a Hornady case-activated drum measure.

Re: Dillon 1050 users
I use the swager because an occasional small primer pocket case would get mixed in with my 45acp brass and the swager catches that. I have a MrBullet feeder and use their powder funnel that preps the case so the bullet gets placed into the case properly. I liked the funnel enough that I use it when I'm not using the bullet feeder and I even use them on my 550.

I no longer pick up any brass that hits the floor so I could probably get rid of the swager.

Re: Dillon 1050 users
Dave, how does the MBF funnel compare to the funnel/actuator for the Dillon measure?
I guess that was my main question, best method for case flair?
I used a RCBS flair die in the LnL.
The Hornady measure works great, I have a older Dillon that I tuned up that works just as good. I think the spring return models are a bit more accurate and have converted the newer ones to work the same way without the fail safe return rod or whatever Dillon calls it.
Thanks for the suggestions/info
