Clark Long Heavy Slide
There was a question a while back about a "Heavy Slide" Clark custom. This is a "Clark Long Heavy Slide." A Clark Heavy Slide looked the same but with a standard 5 inch barrel. This one was built by Jim Clark in May of 1974.. At that point in time there were no 6 inch 1911 slides. Clark took two slides and made one. Held in the light just right you can see the weld line.
Built on a series 70 Colt with a full length Bomar rib. Soft recoil and X ring accurate.... A piece of bullseye history. Plan to send this one out for a little slide to frame tightening up with the stipulation that the 40+ year old patina will be untouched. I'll shoot it but it will never be a match gun for me.

My first wad gun was a Clark Long Heavy Slide. I still have it and they are great guns. Mine still has the original barrel and it shoots great. If your shoots X ring, it does not need tuning and I would not let anyone touch it.
