DPM Pistol Recoil Reduction System
Anyone have any experience with these three spring system recoil spring replacements?
The theory seems sound. But does it work in practice?

No but much of the 1911's accuracy is derived from the lock up and how the round is chambered.

The question is will the recoil be reduced.

A variation on the Sprinco theme?

Re: DPM Pistol Recoil Reduction System
These are very similar to the sprinco system. I have tested it out quite a bit, works great for full power loads, especially hardball. Its basically just a secondary spring to slow the slide way down in the rear 1" or so of travel so it doesn't rotate your wrist as much.
They are, however totally unecessary if you are shooting light lead loads. I actually found them to be a complication that induced jams for lighter loads and have no difference in feel.
I do have a sprinco in my carry 1911 though. Takes a lot of the sting out of hardball.

I was thinking exactly that. That it would be a good thing for commercial ammunition, not so much for light loads with reduced recoil spring requirements.SmokinNJokin wrote:Takes a lot of the sting out of hardball.
Thanks.
