RIA's New .22 Mag 1911
Has anyone had a chance to look over RIA's new .22 magnum 1911? I'm curious about the internals, hammer, sear, trigger set up and whether those parts are suitable for typical bullseye gunsmithing.

Not the new 22 mag, but the other RIA I have the internals are garbage. Plan on replacing the trigger, hammer, sear & disco at a minimum.

I had a browning 1911 in 22lr - nice looking and reliable, definitely not a target gun, and the internals were not the same as a series 70 or 80 1911. If the RIA is actually built like a series 70, that would be pretty cool.
Edit - its a blowback design, similar to a marvel or nelson, though not as good, no doubt.

Must agree with KC. I ordered one in 38 Super so I could be shooting that caliber and then bought a new SA RO in 9mm to send off to KC to have a good 38 Super built. I labeled the RIA a piece of junk when I recieved the gun. Had to put a KC trigger in it to shoot it and it does shoot petty well now and I enjoy shooting SD ranges with it. Don

Re: RIA's New .22 Mag 1911
y'all are harsh!!
I bought a 38 super RIA years ago, found it as a close out at a distributor,
shot several hundred rounds thru it with a hiccup,
however, it was more plinking and general target type, not Bullseye/Precision Pistol stuff,
I did replace the grips, and springs, cause I felt I needed to,
and I am going to sell it, since I picked up a 75 dated Series 70 in that caliber I like more (not going to do a thing to that but enjoy it)
I have no experience with the 22mag version, have not seen one yet
