Volquartsen Trigger kit for Ruger 22/45
Hi all....shoot a Ruger 22/45 for Bullseye League and thinking of installing a Volquartsen trigger kit on my gun. How easy is it to install. Can your average joe do it...or is it something a neophyte should have a gunsmith do?

I've done it. It does take a little dexterity. I followed a video on youtube that is not there anymore. I did find some others. Take a look and see what you think.

I installed one on my 22/45 that I plink with. Not hard at all if you have patience and are some what mechanically inclined. Not sure if this applies to all, but mine started out at 2.25 pounds, and is now right at 1.75. Still safe, no problems, but wouldn't be the required by the rules 2 pounds.

Not difficult at all, I would consider the kit a true "drop in ". Volquartsen provides a step by step full color tutorial from their site.
Go for it as it is a huge improvement.

I wanted to add, I've done two Mark III's and the trigger pull came out at 2 1/4 pounds. The one 22/45 that I did came out under 2 pounds and would not be legal for NRA or CMP competitions.

Mine came out light also but I called them and they told me to use one of the stock springs dont remember which but it then measured 2 1/4lbs. I have done 3 of the kits and learned a few more bad words on the first and second. Mark IIIs are not fun to disassemble and reassemble 13 times. I did find a better video and that made it a lot easier. Don

Aside from dealing with a bunch of strange parts that look nothing like gun parts, (more like ball-point pen parts!) it's a pretty easy job, I did it on my Mark III 22/45. Stick with the Volquartsen instructions, as opposed to the amateur you tube stuff - (they generally seem to show an amateur fighting with parts!)
As above, mine came out too light also after installing it - they told me to reinstall the factory trigger return spring (the plunger-type one up front...)

Yes it is easy with the help of you tube. I have the 22/45 lite and after installing the kit, I had to remove it to send in the lower part for the recall and when it got back the trigger was light enough I still have the Volquartsen trigger in the plastic bag. Of course this gun is for my daughter who just plink's with it.
