Ammunition Storage Ideas
I’m loading a lot of 45 right now and ran out of boxes to put it in. I saved from the range a bunch of American Eagle 45 ACP boxes but I’m out and I’m making more ammunition so I don’t have to later. What do you all use to store ammunition in? Re-use Ammo boxes? Loose in a can? The plastic containers? Ideas please, let me have em!

30 cal ammo cans. 50 call cans are too heavy when full. Woks good for practice.

General practice ammo goes in a 30 cal can loose.
Match ammo goes in boxes. Lately I’ve been using these. http://www.repackbox.com/items/buy-ammo-boxes~30-box-kits/Kit-30-Boxes-45-ACP-detail.htm
But I also have used these. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2138436315/national-metallic-ammo-box-with-styrofoam-tray-40-s-and-w-10mm-auto-45-acp-50-round-cardboard-white

This box is $1.99 at Cabelas, Amazon is becoming way overpriced on everything.

I have a bunch of the Berry's clear plastic boxes for .45. Some like the 100 round boxes, but I prefer the 50. Grafs sells them with $8 shipping: https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/2190.

Re: Ammunition Storage Ideas
50 cal ammo cans for short line & practice ammo.
Match 50 yard ammo gets put into 100 rd MTM boxes.
Match 25 & 50ft ammo gets put into 50 rd slip top MTM boxes before the match.
Ive only tried Dillon & MTM 100 round hinged boxes. Had to switch to just the MTM as the Dillon are just a little too wide to stack in the 50 cal ammo can I take to the matches. Not sure about any other brands.

I don't really have anything new to share. Just some pictures. I have the same problem. I built more shelves and started buying ammo cans. He is what you can get into them.
Shelves: 100 rd MTM and 50 rd MTM with some containers for moon clips
M2 Mortar cans. Hold 1300 with containers
50 Cal cans will hold 850 easy. 40 cal and 45 use the same MTM container.

I was on a special protein diet for quite awhile. The protein powder came in about a 1 gallon sized plastic wide mouth jug with a plastic lid. If you peel off the plastic label, you have a white (or black) plastic jug that can be labeled. Dry, and easy to stack together. I also use them for lubing bullets with 45/45/10.

I use the MTM cases RED for JHP & BLUE for SWC, and I label with load date and data.
I also use 30 cal cans for bulk storage.

I pick ammo boxes out of the trash cans at the range. 45 ammo will fit in most 40 cal boxes, and there are a lot of those in the trash.

I use MTM boxes. Just make sure you get the ones with an actual hinged lid no the ones with the molded in hinge.

That's where my American Eagle 45 boxes came from! Now I wish I had more. Haven't seen any in a while. And with this wether they tend to get messed up before I can get to them.
