M39-2 M59-2... how similar?
I picked up a decent M39-2 today for $300. My 52-2 is in need of a good detail cleaning. I suspect it has never had one as it was part of an estate and looked unfired until I got it. Is the 39 similar as far as detail stripping?

There is a pretty detailed write up on the S&W forum about stripping a 52 you might check it out.

the 52 was pretty much designed off the 39.. the very first ones even had double action triggers.. a -2 is the third and final version so some things changed such as the extractor and trigger..
