I am trying to learn how to shoot a Colt Python revolver and would like to use WST powder with the H&G 50 148 GR wadcutter bullet (button nose - basically a full wadcutter) and cannot find much load data on the web for WST powder. I know that for the HBWC bullet around 2.7-2.8 GR is ideal but don't know how much I should increase the load for a solid wadcutter?  Any advice is appreciated.

If seated flush, I wouldn't go above 2.8 which is the max recommended by Hodgdon for HBWC. I also have a 2001 Winchester manual; it lists 2.8 as the max for HBWC, but 2.7 as the max for BBWC (solid). If you require more velocity, HP-38 / Win 231 may be more appropriate.

I've been loading 2.7 of WST with DEWC (solid) seated flush, with good results.

For a solid DEWC in a revolver, you can go as high as 3.0 BE.
