O-rings for grip screws
Awhile ago I asked about stuck grip screws, and someone mentioned O-rings under the grips. I'd heard of this before, but never tried it. So I went looking for the correctly sized O-rings, and quickly found them. They were four for $2, which I was willing to pay. But when I started the checkout process, they wanted to charge me $7 S&H. This offended my sensibilities, so I canceled the purchase. I knew I could get them locally, I'd just have to drive to the hardware store.
Before giving up though, I tried Challis Grips ( http://www.challisgrips.com/ ). They also wanted $2, but for eight O-rings. Okay, that's better, but what about S&H? I've forgotten exactly what it was, but it was under $2, so I placed the order. Yesterday an ordinary, personal sized envelope arrived, with my name and address and the return name and address hand written, and a single stamp. Inside was a tiny zip lock envelope with nine (not eight) O-rings.
Now, I know they didn't make any money on the sale. But what they did do was to earn a repeat customer. You can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be back, and make a more substantial purchase. Thanks Challis.

I place them under the screw head rather than under the grips...Boxturtle wrote:Awhile ago I asked about stuck grip screws, and someone mentioned O-rings under the grips...
