new trigger but won't fire
I broke my trigger in the Victor. Put a new one in but the pistol won't fire. Any help or assistance would be appreciated.
Thx

Pull off right grip. Be careful not to lose trigger bar spring. See if trigger bar is fully resetting and sliding up behind sear. It's possible that new trigger isn't going forward enough to reset.

And check the trigger stop. It might be screwed in too far.

how does the sear release to allow the hammer to move? I assume the sear rod from the trigger to the sear must engage somehow. Does the safety have anything to do with it.
Sorry for dumb question, but I am not that familiar with the Victor

Re: new trigger but won't fire
HS hammer sear is a funny beast. The trigger pivots and moves trigger bar forward. Trigger bar pulls sear forward allowing the hammer to fall. When slide cycles it pushes trigger bar down disconnecting trigger from sear. When you let off the trigger it allows trigger bar to reset so it can pull sear for next shot. Hammer has a notch/groove on back of it. Sear holds hammer captive on the bottom of sear.
Hope this is what you wanted to know.
