Factory ammo options Empty Factory ammo options

Post by dapduh2 3/28/2018, 7:18 pm

Recommendations for factory ammo are needed. I am trying my hand at bullseye (currently do combat style shooting for the NG). I have a Les Baer Premier II in .45, I’m trying to decide on what would be a good option for 25 and 50 yards. ASYM National Match 185 grain JHP is my current favorite option, velocity is listed at 775 fps. I have also looked at Atlanta Arms stuff but the velocity is much higher. Any opinions are appreciated.

Also, I understand loading my own would be ideal but I don’t have that amount of time to commit just yet

Of the two ASYM is the best choice.  But Zero Bullets will load ammo to your order using their bullets.  The retail outlet is through Rozedist.com. https://www.rozedist.com/

I did a test awhile back (for Chris) and compared ASYM to Atlanta Arms. Bearing in mind that this was only one test and using a Lee rest at 50 yds there was enough of a difference that I would agree the ASYM was a better choice. For some reason I have an extra round on the ASYM target from a different bullet and the close up picture of the AA does not have AA written in the area shown but it is AA and the ASYM does appear to have 11 hits. I post 4 targets at a time when testing ammo.

Military teams use Atlanta, but they probably get custom lots and regular joes get amu rejects

You might try Federal 185 grain swc match ammo.  I think it's velocity is listed at 775fps.  Works well enough in my wad gun.  A little pricey though.
