6" Pardini + 1st RF Target + Target w/Horton grips
Just received my Pardini 6" today.
Added 1911 grip by Precision Target Pistol Grips, Kodiak Base, Aimpoint H1, lobster claw rubber band. I have some beautiful 1911 angle anatomical grips made by Dick Horton too, I' going to be testing both sets of grips over the next week.
Put about 50 rounds through it, then sighted it in. Below is my first target after getting it sighted in, a 99 6X rapid fire @ 25 yds. Next 2 targets were 98's. I only had 1 target left so I shot 50 rounds and had only had 7 9's and 2 8's, a 489/500, the rest were about split between X's and 10's. I'm going to shoot the Dick Horton grip tomorrow.
I was skeptical of the rubber band trick but it really does seem to help you center the dot in the scope, I'm going to try it on the 45 too.

I gotta say... as much as I love the setup, and probably think it would work really well for me, that gun just looks wrong... good thing I'm a function over form sort of guy.
Congrats on the purchase!

Hahaha.
Ugly guns shoot.
I never fear the (unknown) guy or gal with a pretty gun.
I don’t fear a guy or gal with an ugly gun either, but I give them a healthy dose of respect.
On the subject of experimentation, we had a funny chat at the range the other day with a guy whose smallbore rifle had a few pieces hewn from 2x4s. He said, “It’s a process of experimentation.”
I was off to the side, but I chimed in with, “Nobody knows what happened to WD 1 through 39”
Another sage quipped, “Yeah, or Preparations A through G”

I read this article from Doc Wong some time ago and never gave it a second thought. It is suppose to help your subconscious keep the dot in the center of the tube because "we as humans like to see a circle within a circle." Yeah I had second thoughts about posting that pic verses the one with the beautiful Dick Horton grip. One of the real concerns for me about getting the Pardini was I wasn't sure what shooting an anatomical grip in 22 would do to my 1911 scores and I certainly wasn't going to shoot the stock ISSF style/angle Pardini grips, so I ordered the Dick Horton 1911 angle anatomical grips. While I was waiting for both the Horton grips and the Pardini, I saw Andrews grips and decided to give them a try. There wasn't a true 1911 non-anatomical grip readily available before Andrew at Precision Pistol Target Grips started printing them. Ugly yep but I will clean them up, add more aggressive stippling on the front and back straps and make them look "purdy".
What I'd really like is a milled aluminum 1911 grip with changeable grip panels and hole drilled in bottom so you could add weights - any takers?? Maybe even make them so you could swap out the (mainspring) housing with arched or flat.

I love my new Pardini. Shot pretty good with it at the last match, goofy grip angle and all. I will admit, the next match (center-fire with the Baer) it took a couple of shots into slow fire to re-adjust to the grip angle. I'm working with Dick to get my 1911 grips.

Off to the range with the Dick Horton grips. Going to try Wolf Match and CCI today. So far the Wolf Match has been flawless.

Re: 6" Pardini + 1st RF Target + Target w/Horton grips
I't going to take me a while to get use to these grips, I am amazed how well they actually fit based off a scan of my hand. I didn't really shoot any better with these verses the 1911 plastic grips. My groups were a little more spread out with the anatomical grips but to be fair I've only shot 100 rounds with them. I'm going to have Dick make a couple of minor adjustments, there isn't much room if my hands swell at all.
I took 30 shots to settle in then I shot 4 96 targets all 4 targets had 2 9's and a 8.
Below is my last target I just shot 30 shots all RF without scoping between strings and only had 3 9's and the 2 at 7'oclock were called during the second string of 5.
I just love the trigger on the Pardini.
- Dave
ps I forgot to bring the CCI ammo with so I'll test that next time.

Ed, those look like High Master grips to me. You should see my Walthers.
