Morini .22lr
Is the MG200 Match-Guns MG2 .22lr standard pistol available in the US?
One hears great things about it and I wouldn't mind getting one as long as it can be easily accomplished in the USA.

If you email match guns they will give you the name of some imported out in California. Also Neal of http://www.iss-internationalshootersservice.com/ can get them i believe.

Thanks Chris, good information.
Have you considered this gun yourself? My bad shoulder is sending me in search of lighter guns.
Look at this beauty at under 32 oz.

Re: Morini .22lr
I believe Jocelyn at Cibles Canada Targets (targets.ca) imports the CM22... to Canada. I don't know whether he exports them to the USA. A couple of local guys shoot them; they seem like nice guns and look to be reliable.
A few more shoot the MG2. Super sexy, but seems like it can be a little more finicky to get running right.
I myself shoot a Ruger 22/45 Target; also 32oz I know, it's not in the same league...

Actually I spoke with Cibles CN this morning about a FWB part and they mentioned the US import restrictions on firearms and parts thereof.
I shot a Ruger Target the other day but it was heavier than yours. They do make many models though.

No but Jennifer at Pilkguns is getting a price for me.
In Germany they retail for less than half of what George wants but the import restrictions for individuals eliminate that avenue.

Another option is a Volquartsen from their custom shop. Start with their 1911 angle VC Target Frame (7oz) and go from there. Give their custom shop a call tell them what you are trying to do. They don't show the lightweight target frame with a carbon fiber barrel but they sell both so I'm sure they can do it.

Re: Morini .22lr
I have a Matchgun MG2 and 4, not super easy to get, but wonderful to shoot and fairly priced. Best trigger in the universe (IMHO). They are not made by the Morini Company. If you are really interested, PM me and I could put you in touch with the gentlemen who got mine. FWIW, it was pay in advance, and 6 months wait. (I have no financial interest whatsoever)
I rebently priced the Morini CM 22, which is available, but very pricey. As I recall $2400 or so with two mags, $150 ea for more mags. Adding in tax, transfer fees, and cost to get a dot sight rail, got it into the stratosphere . I passed.

Greg, who is the source for the Matchgun MG2 and 4 and what is their weight? If they are no more than 32 oz I'd be very interested.
Also where did you get the quote for the Morini?

Mine weighs 42 oz with the heavy barrel weights attached, and a FF3 dot sight and rail added.
Just fyi, I have a Volquartson with a Tactical Solutions Paclite barrel and a Burris FF3 dot sight. With no magazine it weighs 29.5 OZ.

Re: Morini .22lr
Still a lot lighter than my Benelli MP90 which with a Matchdot II and 5 rounds weighs 49.92 oz and it's not just the total weight but the way out CG.
Now I'm building a 5" 1911 Lightweight Colt forging which with a light Nelson kit and the light Weaver rail, a FF III and the light .22 mags theoretically is lighter than 30 oz. dare I hope 28 + ?
If this proves true then I'll built a second one for .45ACP and if not .... then Morini here I come. Should have it ready to fire in ~ 4 weeks.

Re: Morini .22lr
I seriously considered a Match Gun but decided against it simply because I did not want to end up with an orphan. I’m very pleased that I went with a Pardini, I’ve never had a problem with mine but I know there is a full service importer and parts available in the country if I ever did.

My wife's MG2 with aluminum shroud and small grip weighs 35 oz. That's with the barrel weights on shroud.

The dice is cast. Now I'm working to build an aluminum Caspian 4.25" 1911 frame with a 5" Marvel aluminum kit with the aluminum combo rail, KC's roll trigger etc. and all this will be under 27 oz.
My Tenodesis shoulder will rejoice and if it gets down to 26 oz I can always install a Matchdot.
