1911 Grip Spacers/Shims
Did a search and came up empty handed. Where can I find these to widen the feel of slab grips?

I use the shims from CMM Shooting Sports (the link that Chris provided). I have a set on my Nelson lower and my .45. That plus an arched mainspring housing makes the 1911 frame feel really good in my hands.

Re: 1911 Grip Spacers/Shims
Thanks everyone, I added some washers between the frame and grips to simulate the same 3 thickness options offered by CMM. The .063" was a bit too wide but the .032" felt like a perfect fit for my hand using the Sharkskin grips, along with my arched mainspring housing. I didn't think that life could be any better but I'm so excited like a little kid in a candy store.
An added bonus of these spacers would be the extra protection in case of a blow out with a double charged round, not that it'll ever happen to me.

Oops, your message slipped in. I see you've already solved the problem. The above was suggested on a Brian Enos Forum:

Now $32.99 at Brownells. Probably went up after all the good reviews from this forum.

Norman,
I know you’re having a good time being Grandpa, but there’s no excuse for Dad Jokes.

Good News #2 I'll be shooting the league matches again soon
Good News #3 I cleverly avoided changing diapers for a whole year, my wife did it! Don't mind gun oil and grease, crud from fired rounds and Hoppe's solvent, but diapers??.......Yeck!

Re: 1911 Grip Spacers/Shims
It started with a 1911 that didn't have front checkering. I used skateboard tape and rather than ending it where the Sharkskin grips start, I kept applying tape all the way under the grips and stopped only where the grips end.
So now the tape under the grips acts as a spacer and the gun, with a checkered wedge mainspring cover, is some kind of wonderful.

Don't think for a moment the smaller cottage industries as well as the larger ones don't follow the interweb as a gauge.
