Got blessed today!
8
I have been partaking in a estate sale for the last week or so. I was going down to buy a colt mark 3 midrange and when i got there it was not as expected. He had several more boxed pistols on the table and i asked to look at them. The first smith & wesson box i opened had this almost flawless model 52-2 with two magazines.
Cool grips...
I then found this 1911....
The trigger is phoenomenal. Would that bromr rib make this 1911 not cmp compatible for eic matches?
Im pretty happy with these two!

beautiful finds! No, I don't believe the rib would be EIC eligible.

The grips on the 52 are most likely these:

I have a set on my 41, but I’m not sure I’d like them on a CF gun as I can’t seem to get as firm of a grip.

Nice pistols, and James is correct, ribs are not an allowable mod EIC Service pistols.

While the bomar rib is not legal for CMP they can be removed, the holes plugged and legal iron sights installed.

The holes no longer need to be plugged to comply:jglenn21 wrote:While the bomar rib is not legal for CMP they can be removed, the holes plugged and legal iron sights installed.

Nice find, you don't find pistols at estate sales in CA. Do you know who did the 1911?
