Not really an answer, but KC told me that the rib on my Salyer would need to be opened up for the larger screws on the Kodiak to work.  Then I found that the previous owner had already done that, so for me, everything was fine.

I have a Clark barrel on my Model 41.  Not sure what to do about the base yet, but if I order another Kodiak, I'll have the same concerns.

If you call KC or Clark, they can probably give you the appropriate answer.

Paul, will probably have to be opened up to use a Kodiak mount.
