45 Colt/200gr ...?
Is a 200 grain LSWC too light of a bullet for 45 Colt (Long Colt... what ever)?

Why so heavy? I prefer the 185's. I have L-SWC loads also. I tried loading the lead loads too light and almost had a squib with 4.2 gr BE. There is a lot of room in those cases.

I got me a Ruger Blackhawk and all I have right now is 200gr and 185gr LSWC. I thought maybe those were too light. I guess they’ll shoot acurate enough for 25 yards? Just a fun gun. Was discounted down to $250 as a birthday gift.

More options. For a little more oomph. The 200gr was real accurate. These loads were all found in some manual somewhere. Well, not the TMJ but 185 JHP's I found.

Tim slug the barrel, then slug those chambers. I know a gunsmith that loves those Rugers and he once told me their 45 chambers ran on the tight side. He has a .45 acp/LC conversion model that I'd like to nab from him some day, also has a 9mm/38 that is sweet also. Right now I'm so infatuated with bullseye shooting and want to improve that all I'm shooting is my wad gun and 22 Victor. When get to 90% I might slow down and have fun with some other revolvers and stuff.

Thanks Len! At 25 yards 4.6 grains of Bullseye with a 185gr LSWC shot great! Easily 100-8X group. It’s just a plinking gun for me. Killing clay pigeons in the 25 yard berm. Perhaps I may even work up a hunting load. I don’t know. Thanks again.

LSWC's loaded backwards make good boat-tail wad cutter revolver loads.
