I'm going to shoot a M9 next year for EIC. I picked up 1k of the Zero 115gr JHP at Perry this year and just wonder what people are doing with them. I looked in the 9mm Hardball sticky, just wondering what else people are doing.

Ugh.
I've found 147 gr bullets will work better with that slow twist.
115 grainers I think you'd have to crank them up pretty hot.
try  6.2 gr PowerPistol.
maybe 5.1 gr Silhouette with those 115 grainers.

Don't laugh, 2.8 of BE and a Penn cast 115. Need the oversize expander plug though.

4.5 GR VV330 SHORT LINE , 5.0GR  VV330 LONG LINE,
ZERO 115 GR CONICAL IS GOOD,HORNADY 115GR HAP IS SLIGHTLY BETTER, HORNADY 115 GR XTP WAS THE BEST.  JP

I was talking to Steve Huff in Phoenix in February at Desert Mid-Winters. He said they are using 18 twist in all their 9’s.

My S&W 910 has the same twist.  With the Hornady 115 HAP, which is identical to the Zero, I have an accurate load using 4.3 gr. of Power Pistol, 1.115" COAL.  Produces 1" @ 25 yd.  Recoil is slightly more than a 38 Special.  This gun is not match grade either.  I did have to replace the recoil spring with a 12 lb. though.

I just got one of Steve's 9mm Pro Series pistols.  While talking with him at Camp Perry last week, he confirmed that he test fires his pistols with Atlanta Arms Elite ammo.  My test fire target group at 25 yds measures 5/8" by 7/8".  I'd say his barrel twist rate works very well.

Not sure what you're referring to.  Price?  Recoil?  Their 115 gr. Match AMU load doesn't seem to be very hard to handle.  I've fired about 200 of them but will use my own loads for most shooting.  It sure beats .45 ACP 230 gr. hardball loads for "comfort".  However, you've probably shot a lot more of their ammo than I have.  Smile

I measured the Atlanta Arms 110 gr Elite ammo at a little over 1100 FPS using a Labradar.  Not slow but shoots small groups with moderate recoil.

My Accuracy X Pro Plus 9mm test target 10 shot group measures 1.1" center to center.  If only I could shoot that good!

Agreed!  I'd love to be able to shoot groups anywhere near what the pistol is capable of.  Can I install a Ransom rest in my right arm? Smile

that's the new 110 stuff, I'm of the opinion the 115 is much harsher. Still better than .45 acp.

I'm sorta partial to 6.4 gr of Power Pistol. My barrel has a 18.75 twist. I've switched to Zero bullets now but use the same load. I suppose if my Lee powder dispenser threw 6.2 gr instead of 6.4 then that would be my favorite load. Very Happy

Curious. at what distance from muzzle does the Labradar measure velocity?

I believe most factory velocities are at 10 ft. How do your readings compare to published factory loads?

Hi.  You referred to AA Elite 110gr. 9mm loads earlier but I've never seen them listed on the AA website. Perhaps I missed it or they were part of a limited run.
