What are people using for the short line with 9mm 115gr jhp
First topic message reminder :
I'm going to shoot a M9 next year for EIC. I picked up 1k of the Zero 115gr JHP at Perry this year and just wonder what people are doing with them. I looked in the 9mm Hardball sticky, just wondering what else people are doing.

Could be. I'm sure that the AMU shooters need all of the help they can get to be competitive. LOLx2

Long line - 115 gr XTP over 5.5 BE-86 (max load from the Hornady manual)
Short line - Zero 115 JHP-C over 5.2 BE-86
Lower cost short line - Xtreme 115 heavy plate concave base over 5.0 BE-86

Using a Sig 226 4.5" barrel 1:16 twist
Hornady 115 fmj's
Starline brass
OAL 1.15"
Winchester Primers
Ive ransom rest tested with each of the above 5 powders multiple times. Running 20 rounds per 0.1g increments - two shot groups of 10 each. The top two were Power Pistol and CFE. The CFE had slightly better groups (though both very close) and was much lighter than the PP.

What size groups at 50 yards did you get with power pistol and CFE?

I haven't tried it at 50 yards yet. Ive only had it a few months now and have been busy testing everything i can since. The power pistol i tested 3 times including varying seating depths and the cfe ave tested twice. Both did well above the other 3 powders ive tried.

I don't know who first started loading 110 gr .357 bullets in .38 Super, but I do know about three years ago, when I was shooting with Doug Koenig at his range in PA, I noticed he was shooting some of them. Needless to say, if they are good enough for him, they are good enough for anyone.

@ 25 yards - 10 rnd groups I was averaging 1.1" with the 3 Power Pistol tests. For CFE I averaged 0.9-1" in two separate test days. Both very close either way but I think the CFE was smoother. Also the CFE seemed to do best a bit lighter at like 1090 fps for me. The PP did best up around 1200 fps
