Adjusting sights from 25 to 50 yards. OR adjust hold?
How many clicks up would I normally have to go from 25 to 50 yards? For example , I have a Les Baer PII 45 acp. Its set up for six o'clock hold for 25 yards ( to shoot about 2.75 inches high at 25 yards) with Federal Gold Medal 185swc.
When I move to 50 yards AND will still want six o'clock hold ( 4 inches high on 50 yards target ) how many clicks up I would normally have to go ?
OR is it better to just use center hold at 50 yards?
Any help is appreciated.

Try zero clicks first. 3" high from point of aim at 25 is 6" at 50. Bullet might drop back in X. All depends on load.

You have a good answer above: 4-6 clicks. I use 5.

Back to my zero answer. I was just playing with my ballistic calculator. a 185 gr SWC with a bc of .114 and a muzzle velocity of 850 fps has some interesting numbers. Iron sights about 1/2" above the bore and sighted in at 75 yds. To match observed performance. Would print about 2.9" high at 25 yds and 3.2" at 50. Those numbers change a bunch as velocity goes up or down. I used to shoot hardball center hold and never changed my sights between 25 and 50. I didn't have this handy calculator back then but looking at it now I see those hardball rounds would have been about 1" high at 25. If you never change them you don't have to worry about where you left them.
