SCATT Basic
Shooting smallbore in college, I learned the value of the diagnostic abilities of a tool like Noptel, RIKA, or SCATT.
The threads on this site cover numerous great hints for the best ways to use them. My question is: has anyone used the newer Basic model?
I want to teach myself how to read what my dot is already telling me.

Re: SCATT Basic
I too, am considering a SCATT Basic. I plan to use it on my air rifle, air pistol and .22 bullseye pistol. Is there anyone on here that has the Basic model, really likes it, thinks that it is helping them improve their scores and has no regrets buying it?
Thank you!

Re: SCATT Basic
OK, maybe I should first just be asking if anyone has a SCATT Basic?

Might be sacrilege to mention other boards here.
But there's quite a few threads about the SCATT systems over on targettalk.org

Re: SCATT Basic
Been there. Finally bought the Basic. I really like it. Easy to set up. The feedback I am getting is helping me shoot better. It is also making dryfire entertaining!

Do the blank target drill with your SCATT, you might be surprised at the results.
I don't know if that is possible with the basic?

Re: SCATT Basic
Also bought SCATT basic. (Actually, the wife gave it to me as a Birthday present ). I like it very much. Was a bit tricky to set up but I called SCATT USA and Alexander worked with me for an hour on the phone and got it working great.
It has limited information compared with the full version, but the traces are the same and I try to "see the trace" and call the shot before I look at the results. It really helps me to confirm with immediate feedback what I already know:
1. Following the shot process is good
2. Trusting in your hold is good
3. Holding too long is bad
4. Trying to save the shot is bad
Duh...
On a serious note, I am following Ed Hall's recommendations, which he made for the RICA system - strive for a roundish trace and the shot to be centered in the trace. This is achieved when the shot process is followed and the sight alignment and trigger work are done well.
Regards,
Oleg.
