Some people just can't stand prosperity...in my case it's normally the reverse.

Would the "long story" be the tale of shot number 10???

At my club the rule is if you clean a target you buy a round at the bar for the entire group.STEVE SAMELAK wrote:Some people just can't stand prosperity...in my case it's normally the reverse.
My friend shot a 99 so I accused him of being cheap.

Re: Dang-its When things don't quite come together.
Greetings,
I did not save the target; however, I shot a 95X9 Timed Fire at the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver club located in Bremerton, WA.
Oh yes, this was with the heavy recoiling 22lr.
Looking at targets on the wall in my shop, I have more than one "Dang-it".
Cheers,
Dave

Mike I hate to break it to you but that 9 sure looks like a 10. Do you have overlays or a plug?

Mike knows it's a 10, but, he just wants to be in the show!!zanemoseley wrote:Mike I hate to break it to you but that 9 sure looks like a 10. Do you have overlays or a plug?

Love my Dang-its...
For me it's either the first or the last shot. I know there's no excuse for a bad first shot and I am working on that.

I thought it had to break through the line to count, not just touch it??
Bullseye rules say just touch it and with some ammo like jacketed 45 the hole looks considerably smaller than it actually is, which makes an overlay almost mandatory.

For practice when no one's looking, slide an empty case in the hole...

The first thing you need to work on is to get it out of your head that you always/often have a flier. Your subconscious loves to work within your self-perception.bruce martindale wrote:Love my Dang-its...

For first shot work, try one shot drills. For last shot work, try adding the motions of a sixth shot. Sometimes just the thought of having another shot left can move the last one into the group.

(1) Why remind ourselves of things we don't want to do. Cover up the ones that are out and study the center shots.
(2) I've noticed that actually reading the rules significantly reduces the need for "thinking".

I was quite happy with those targets, errors aside, they were some of my best. There is always the element of luck; some shots in, some out.
Re: Dang-its When things don't quite come together.
With the sights a little bit down and to the right, it would no longer be a problem. :-)LenV wrote:I actually was quite happy with this. Maybe in a couple more years of looking at it the 9 will creep a little closer......
My way of thinking, that's an excellent target!
(Gee, you're the one who taught me that....)
