Recommendation for Service Rifle Forum
Hey all, I am looking to try my hand at service rifle. So far all I have is the rifle and reloading equipment. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on a good forum like Bullseye-L, but for service rifle? I have learned a ton here over the years. Going to take a while to amass the equipment as I have a baby on the way, but I'm a patient person. Right now I am focused on the knowledge!

You have a club with an active Highpower program not very far from you.
Lots of good shooters there who will be happy to help.

Another hearty +1 for usrifleteams. The "NRA CMP High Power Rifle Competitors" group on Facebook is also quite active.
The usrifleteams forum has a few advantages:
1) It's "darkweb", so posts don't get indexed by search engines.
2) As such, everyone is encouraged to go by their real name, so you don't have as many "forum knowitalls" named "xring800" whom nobody has ever seen at a match.
3) It is well-moderated.
4) You can search the archives.
Good luck! Service rifle is one of the toughest shooting sports I've ever attempted, and I say that as a guy who has shot my fair share of free pistol.
Sincerely,
Distinguished Rifleman #2385

New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club
We are having a Leg Match next weekend. While I understand you are only getting started you should come out and watch and meet the local guys. They are very helpful and will help you get your gear together without getting a bunch of stuff you will end up having to upgrade later.
Dave
P.S. I will be there so if you PM me I could answer any questions you may have

The only other Forum I would suggest is the CMP Forum, which has several subforums of interest:

CMP had a section for Service Rifle,
as does AR15.com, (https://www.ar15.com/forums/Training/High-Power-DCM-CMP/14/)
if you prefer reading material in a book form,
Jim Owens books are a good helpful read,
the top 3 on this page are short and very informative

Wow. I had no idea I had so many responses. Haven't been getting notifications from the forum for some reason. Thank you so much for the responses! I'm slowly picking up equipment and have been talking with some guys at my home rage of Holmesburg. I'll definitely check out the books and websites mentioned. Thanks again!

usrifleteams isn't remotely the "darkweb" John, sorry. That's a term used for all sorts of other things, but there is nothing darkweb about usrifleteams.
But, like usrifleteams, the idea of search engines not indexing information means that such knowledge is withheld, like the old lava.net list for be. Unless you are in the know, then, go away, hoi polloi.
Something about the elitism seems wrong, but you do get one thing right about moderation being important for the success of a forum. I think the guys and gals here do a great job in that regard.
