Air Rifle Silhouette Recommendation Empty Air Rifle Silhouette Recommendation

I want to try air rifle silhouette. I shoot an Xisco XS-60C .177 regularly in my basement range for practice. Is this adequate for silhouette? 45 meters may be a bit long.

I am missing my left forearm so I want a very light weight air rifle. The XS-60 with a small scope weighs about 6 1/2 lbs. I shoot Smallbore Silhouette with a CZ452 which weighs about 7 1/2 lbs. I find that the additional pound makes a big difference in my accuracy. I like the CZ and plan to continue to use it. As my left shoulder gets stronger I expect to enjoy improving with it, but for Air Rifle I want to stay as light as possible.

I like using CO2 cartridges because there is no cocking required and I don't want to invest in PCP equipment. The hand pumps look cost effective but frankly, if I spend a long time hand pumping with one arm I doubt I have the strength left to shoot effectively.

I see an Avanti 853 for sale in the classifieds and I was wondering if it could do the job. It is very light weight but seems a little weak for 45 Meter Rams. I think I could operate the single stroke ok with one arm.

Any suggestions?

What restrictions on caliber are there for your chosen disciplines?  I could suggest buying a larger bore air rifle (heavier pellets generally means more energy for knocking down large targets at distance), but if the riles mandate a caliber and/or energy limit such a suggestion might not be so useful.

Hope this helps.
