I have 115gr jacketed 4.2-4.8gr W231 at 1.15oal.
Problem with the slow twist is that the bullets need to go fast.

Many people feel Hornady 115 xtp bullets are the most accurate 9mm bullet. I like to load it with 4.4 grains vv n340 at 1.075 inch COAL. You could try different coals and then do a powder work up to optimize accuracy for your gun.

In ransom rest testing my pistol w 1:10 twist did best with the 115g projectiles.
I also agree with the above quote in that CFE seems to have done the best for me out of any powders I tested.
Lastly for projectiles I would suggest taking a look at Hornady HAP's and XTP's. The HAP's are a non expanding hollow point which can be found for the same price as the FMJ's. Since they are the same profile as the XTP expandable hollow points you wont have a difference in shooting or loading between your training and defense rounds.

Re: 9mm bullets and load for service pistol?
OK, I'm confused. Nothing new. Kind of stating the obvious.
A 1:9.7 twist is relatively fast. Correct?
Fast twist rates stabilize heavier projectiles better than lighter ones. Correct?
Thus, JIMPGOV's recommendation of 147gr. Hornadys makes sense to me.
So, please help me understand the recommendations for 115gr. projectiles.
BTW: I like the looks of these ---> https://www.precisiondelta.com/products/9mm-147gr-fmj-flat-point/

Re: 9mm bullets and load for service pistol?
I was shooting 115 HAP with 5.0 CFE pistol. Crony said 100 fps ES, so I tried Titegroup. 4.0 TG gave me the same AV 1025 with an ES of less than 30. Same accuracy. Don't know the twist of my PM-9.
