hammerli 208s vs 215s

hi,i have a curiosity about hammerli. i read both pistols are the same but the only difference is the finish,but why is more popular 208s than 215 or 215s???

far as i've seen, 208 has a different barrel contour and less matt blue finishing

Christian,  Larry Carter is the go to guy on Hammerli's.
I am sure there is a lot more info in this forum than a search could find.
They had a pretty long run with lots of variations.
The one thing they all have in common is: I don't think I ever heard anyone say "the pistol would not shoot past my skill set".

I was told that the internals are identical and interchangeable. They are the same gun except the 215/215s was a "budget" version purely due to the less expensive finish.
