Anyone submit an order for a CMP 1911?
Did anyone sign up?
I see they are not accepting any new orders as they have already exceeded the 19,000 they have set aside for the lottery so some orders will be rejected. The first 19,000 will get a number that is randomly generated (RGN) the ones that get a low RGN will get what they asked for and if you are farther down the list, well it's take what is offered or pass.

I though about going for one but passed.

I passed as well. Buying a piece of history at the prices they are charging was out of my budget.

I have a couple GI 1911A1's, so passed, but am a long time CMP customer
have been getting a kick out of comments on several forums about pricing vs buying new, etc etc,

My pop and I are in line for two. We are more than thrilled at the chance. I am surprised more folks didn't throw their hat in, but I guess they didn't like the pricing or the procedure to get one.
I think it is funny as we used to pass them up at the gun shows in the 80s. We wanted a shiny new Colt in the box, not one of those old war dogs.
A buddy that I work with pulled one out of his safe recently that was his grandpa's. It was a Remington Rand that was in exceptional shape. That just stoked my fire to get one.

Also passed. A thousand bucks is a lot of ammo for the 1911s I already have.

Spend a few hundred more and get a M1 Garand. Also a nice piece of history.

My wife and I both submitted packets. To be honest, I don’t have high hopes of being selected for the “lottery”

CMP 1911
I actually sent in the paperwork on time and haven't heard a word yet.. A friend was notified that his name was drawn, but, declined as all you get is one per lifetime.. He wants to get in on the auction where the real treasures are. Colts with matching parts etc.. or a real 1911.. Not an 1911A1

I put in a package, but haven't heard anything. I figure that if nothing else, it's a good investment.

Passed. I was issued a number of these "historical" weapons during my 25 year career. I'd rather spend my money on a new Range Officer.

Re: Anyone submit an order for a CMP 1911?
there are threads on gunboards and CMP forum of the pistols that folks have received so far,
all look good, well worth the coin,
have not seen anyone post about receiving a POS yet, but it is early
