All set to order a RRA .45 Wad gun - not
Finally decide I want a RRA .45 wad gun. Get in touch with my gun store and tell them what I want and have them contact RRA to place my order.
Well that plan has fallen apart faster than a speeding bullet, RRA 1911's are not on the Massachusetts Approved Firearms Roster.
Really frustrating it is a 1911 just like a million other 1911's.
Just one more thing to add to my list for leaving this state.

Before I say yes I will have to check. Or I buy a 1911 on the list and use it for a build. I will send you a pm.

You can have a 1911 frame shipped to Mass, through your FFL. The other components would need to be shipped separately. You could also leverage the Mass state target / competition exemption list. First link lists the pistols currently on the list https://www.mass.gov/doc/formal-target-shooting-roster-0/download. The second part is the application form and qualification questions that would dictate what features / functions a gun would need to posses to qualify https://www.mass.gov/doc/application-for-formal-target-shooting-roster/download.

Slight correction to the roster (old link is expired) https://www.mass.gov/lists/approved-firearms-rosters

OK so I can buy a frame, then send it to Jon and have him build the gun. Then what happens in regard to him selling it/ shipping it back to me or an FFL?Zippy wrote:You can have a 1911 frame shipped to Mass, through your FFL. Once you purchase the frame (caspian) transfer to your ffl of choice, you could then ship it out to Jon. Once he completes the gun and ships it back to you do an eFA-10 to yourself to keep it legal.
