The 92F was adopted by the Army as the M9 pistol.
So, yes it is legal.

Its legal to shoot as long as you dont add something to it thats not an approved improvement. But these guns in stock form are not very accurate at 50 yards and require a lot of work and cost to get it to be.

I beg to differ on requiring a lot of work and cost to be accurate.
These are my 6 EIC scores from my Salyer 92FS.
275-8x / 269-6x / 259-2x / 269-7x / 278-6x / 264-4x
It has a fitted KKM slow twist barrel, couple of new springs and LPA sights.
Not that expensive and quick turn around.
They may not be great scores but I believe 260+ will get you points.
I have my 30pts but no hard leg, but it will come one day.
The reason I wrote this is that I do not want the OP to think he needs to spend $2K and wait a year or more to be competative with said Beretta.

Re: Beretta Leg Pistol
The reason I asked was I know at leg matches they get pretty riled up on stuff as I am a High Power shooter and shoot Perry for CMP week. I did not want to put a barrel on my 92F and be DQed. I slugged my bore and it is .357 hence it does not shoot standard 9mm worth a darn.

I have shot a 266 with my Beretta using a KKM drop-in barrel, LPA sights and a d-spring. Less than $400.00.

Of course the amount of work needed can range from 4-600.00 on the low end and 2k for a sams or other on the high end if you want to even have a chance at earning leg points.

I wonder if you could load these .357" diameter bullets in a 9mm case and as long as you have slugged your 92fs barrel and know it's .357?
The chamber in a stock 92 would also need to be checked for OD.

Doing some research it can be done but I think I am just going to get a new barrel. Still have not decided which I like more the 1911 or M9.
