Springfield XDM 5.25 in 10mm
I figure that would make the perfect EIC pistol. If you have a pistol that you only get to shoot 150 times a year in matches it might as well be perfect for other things. I got an email from GunsAmerica this morning talking about Springfield's new addition to the XDM line. Since they didn't change the frame or the magazine size a person should be able to convert a .40 cal for the cost of a barrel and a couple of magazines. Looks like they are going to be fun.

I put a powder river trigger kit, and welded the barrel in my 9mm. It seems pretty good. Why go for 40mm ? Besides the slightly larger hole in the paper.
Sorry, I was thinking of something else. Same question, just a different caliber measurement.

Sometimes I want to hit it loud & hard.....but 40 mm would be REALLY hard compared to 10 mm.

Re: Springfield XDM 5.25 in 10mm
When I bought my XDM I did a little research and found if I got it in 40 cal I could put a 9mm match barrel in it anytime I wanted just by swapping barrels. But you can not go from a 9 to a 40. I got the 40 and now I have the capability of shooting 9, 357sig, 40s&w and soon 10mm. Now they need to make a 38Super barrel. Of course none of that is really needed. Need and want are almost never related

Len, you might want to experiment with reduced 10mm loads. I have read that it does well with lighter loads, might not be a need for a barrel swap.

Re: Springfield XDM 5.25 in 10mm
My shooting partner got 10mm XDm 5.25 couple of weeks ago. It is his first 10mm gun, before he shot several of mine. So we both are exploring new XDm. I shut few rounds with it, and two things jump at me.
1. for 10 mm gun cut out in the slide is not a good idea. More so, I feel that installing weight on tactical rail would be beneficial;
2. I absolutely hate stock trigger, or to be exact not so much trigger itself, but rather trigger safety. I like riding trigger by sliding finger on inside of trigger guard. Safety spring is too stiff. No different than on two of my 9mm XDms - both replaced with Powder River Precision Extreme kit.
Otherwise gun is excellent and accurate - I had 10 shut ~3/4" group (with one flyer) shooting full power S&B 10mm clocked at 1200+ fps.
