springfield R/O
We had the ransom rest out at the range yesterday. One of the members has a new R/O it shot a 3.250 group at 50 yards no mods at all.

Re: springfield R/O
I asked an old timer (higher) expert at the club I am waiting to join, to shoot mine so I can get an honest opinion. 5 shots off hand, four grouped at three inches at 50y, one was called low. He offered to buy it on the spot, as did a couple others. The gun is stock other than a cylinder and slide sear spring and short trigger. I am glad he shot it, I was almost going to sell it for a used overpriced Clark. I am glad they talked me out of it. Ill get a Clark when I can shoot Clark type groups.....maybe never.

Well just to let people know, being a dealer i have ordered the RO's for customers since they came out, the first ones were super tight frame slide fit but the last one i got this week had a noticeably looser fit, i could feel the slide rock on the frame. I would suggest if you want one of these and they are becoming harder to get due im sure to demand i would look for dealers that have one in stock so you can check the fit before buying it. I fear Springfield loosened the tolerances up to make them more newbie friendly out of the box.

RO used in leg matches?
I was wondering if the RO is a legal gun for leg matches?

Re: springfield R/O
You would have to swap out grip safety, hammer, and thumb safety to be legal.
