Jan AR has a longish article on the US made P210 Target. Can not understand why such a famous pistol that is said to be intended for bullseye has no easy provision to attach a red-dot sight. Even as a boy, I had heard about the Swiss P210.

Its a very old design before red dots were popular. The new one is just a refreshed version that is easier to build by changing the lockup design but I'm sure they wanted to maintain the old look. Pay a smith to drill and tap a rail if you want one. 9mm typically doesn't get a lot of love for bullseye, many go for a 38 special or 38 super.

I just bought one, seems very accurate thus far. EGW is now selling mounting plates for reflex type dots. See http://www.egwguns.com/p210a-american-made-post-2016/

Looked closely at a P210. The red dot situation was a problem. I ended up whith a Dan Wesso PM-9. This gun shoots just over an inch at 25 yards with different loads. After a bunch of research, I decided a swiss P210 was what I was really looking for and did not want to pay that kind of money for a used gun that would still be difficult to mount a red dot. Forget shooting Irons for me, too old.
Maybe some day I will see an american one and just by it. The gun intregues me.

Saw one Sig P-210 at a Cabela's and thought about buying it. That was almost a year ago and now that I have the funds they are nowhere to be found (American made) but just got a write up in The American Rifleman.

Few months back I posted on sigtalk forum - https://sigtalk.com/p210/322238-legend-back.html#post4564068
US made P210-Target is very accurate and, IMO rivals German P210-9-Target and even Swiss made earlier models comparing guns with inch for inch barrels.

I'll post results when I get mine to the range. It is still possible to shoot a bullseye match without a dot, if the results are good I'm going to give this gun a try in centerfire.

The new and old at75 feet they are equal sort of. At 150 feet, the older ones eat the new kids lunch and take their lunch money too. It's expensive but what a nice piece of engineering and feel.
For optics Docter will harden their optics and you can find a Gun smith to make a base that will slide into the micrometer rear sight. The RD MUST be hardened to take the stress of the slide.

Mines 957XX. 210-6. It's nice and tight. I shoot 124 JHP and I use a ROCO sight base and Docter reddot. I keep the iron on just in case of dot failure even though I'm 1/2 blind even with the corrective optics.

Better yet, if you click on the link I provided in my post about seven up in this thread, you will find that they have developed several reflex mounts that are in stock. Just saying....

Surprise they have no recoil springs available yet!
I just shot mine last night, I bought it new and it shoots great, it really chewed up the 10 ring with Winchester 115 gr white box at 50 ft. When the weather is better I'll get a better sense of 25 yard accuracy and maybe 50 yard accuracy with my reloads. The trigger is great and the fit is good. The nitride finish is probably going to be durable, I'm glad they put this over the stainless steel.
My plans for this pistol are that going to be diversion from my bulls eye practice done with my guns that have red dots on them.
I called Sig today and asked what the recoil spring life is, they said 3K to 5K rounds. I tried to order one and they don't have a part listing yet! The gun has been on the market for a year and they told me they still have no part listing which is crazy! I told the CSR I was amazed that I was the first one to ask him for one, I explained that if this was a competitive shooter's primary pistol one could easily shoot 5K to 7K round through it in a year. So my only disappointment is the lack of a very common consumable part-I hope this changes! Kind of scary! I didn't ask about any other parts, what if an extractor broke?

Re: Sig P210 Target 9mm
Go on to gun broker. DMP or something like that sells recoil springs that are tuneable. They will answer your questions. I have some in mine. P210-6 1983?
Mention my name Rick Tornello. It's safe.
If you do this
DO NOT use the 3 light springs for heavy loads.
Tune with one of the 3 heavier springs and fine tune with the washer.
Now you might need to play with it since yours is a new version

Re: Sig P210 Target 9mm
Great to have a report of how the new P210 shoots at 50 feet with iron sights. With only an eight round mag. it may not fit many - or even any - action shooting categories. Local indoor action shooting (iron sights) requires exactly 6 rounds, but that is an exception. Five rounds and several magazines is enough for Bullseye, but not without means to mount a red-dot sight at right height.
SIG has a reputation of having purchasers (especially, early purchasers) do Beta testing. Perhaps if enough fuss is made about having a model for Bullseye something good will happen.

Thanks Rich
I found a vendor named DPM Systems USA on the web. They have a SIG 210 kit with three springs and the guide rod. I sent them an email asking about the fit to the new SIG P210 A Target model. I'll post their reply when I get it. I did not mention your name, their product is listed as fitting SIG SAUER P 210 Legend-Target-Super Target, I've got to assume that is what you have.
